Siberians And Youth Winning Over Odds
We strongly believe that when a child dedicates him/herself to a dog the benefits are endless and touch many. We are offering a $100 award each year to a young person (up to the age of 16) with an exemplary dedication to a purebred Siberian Husky. While we applaud those who dedicate precious hours in kennels, grooming shops or rescues, this award is meant for those devoted to the care and training of their pure bred, registered Siberian Husky as well as verifiable participation in one or more dog sports or activities throughout the year. Some examples would be competitive agility, obedience, conformation, 4H, therapy dog training/work, lure coursing, sledding, racing, tracking or weight pull. Any other verifiable activities of a youth/dog team will be considered. Deadline for this year's award will be January 1st, 2010and it will cover participation between Jan 1st, 2009 and December 31st, 2009. To be considered, the applicant must fill out an application and write a brief paragraph about their activities with their dog. Proof of participation such as letters from the organization involved (i.e. from a 4H leader, therapy dog organization), results records, newspaper clippings etc. should be included. Parental consent must be submitted with the application as well as 1-5 photographs of the youth/dog team in action. Submission of these photographs, the application and parental consent form authorizes us to use the child's first name/dog's call name, photos and story on our website when listing the annual award winners. The child's surname and the dog's registered names will not be made public or shared at any time. No other personal identifying information will be posted to protect the privacy of the minor.
